Kodak will offer photographers its own cryptocurrency
American company Eastman Kodak announced its intention to create its own cryptocurrency in partnership with Wenn Digital. A cryptocurrency called KODAKCoin is designed to help photographers and agencies improve copyright control in the image field.
Blockchain platform KODAKOne will create an encrypted digital property rights register for photographers, which will include both new and archival works. Photographers can use cryptocurrency to receive payment for licensing their photos immediately after the sale, as well as freely trade on a safe platform.
ICO is scheduled for January 31, 2018, but Eastman Kodak’s shares soared right after the announcement of the planned Blockchain project. Their cost has almost doubled.
